Aeolus IV

 Name:  "Aeolus IV (ex Lismore)
 Serial nr:  180
 Contruction date:  1973
 Location:  Eastbourne
 Hull colour:  blue
Alterations  from original:  I'm her third owner. She was originally sold to an English family as "Lismore" in 1973, who kept for for just 2 years, before being sold to a Dutch gentleman in 1975. Jan Hofstede re-named her "Aeolus IV" and sailed her extensively throughout Europe until his death in 2001.

I found her for sale in Brighton marina in the UK while looking for out first yacht. When I first saw her, I felt that this was the prettest boat I had seen in over a year of looking at yachts, and before even stepping on board knew that I would buy her.

A year later I have had the hull completely treated for Osmosis (which was rather advanced), replaced the Volvo MD2B engine with a Yanmar 3GM30F (keeping the offset propellor shaft), new standing rigging and Furlex (keeping orignal mast and boom).

Although I have had only a half season of sailing I'm delighted with how she sails, and takes care of me even when the weather is not ideal. I have had many comments from other boat owners in Eastbourne Harbour on how pretty she is.
